NBA — Play-In Tournament opens

Warriors 126, Clippers 121. Golden State locks in the 7-seed in the West. Curry finished with 35 points and hit the go-ahead three with 50.4 seconds left. The Clippers drop into the final Play-In game to survive.

76ers 109, Magic 97. Philadelphia got the 7-seed in the East without Joel Embiid. Tyrese Maxey went for 31 points and six assists across 42 minutes, with 11 in the fourth quarter. Rookie VJ Edgecombe added 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Sixers draw the Celtics in round one.

NHL — Regular season, six games

Panthers 8, Red Wings 1. Florida put up a touchdown-plus-two against Detroit.

Blackhawks 5, Sharks 2. Chicago handled San Jose.
