Spring 2026 Update: Overtime, Period Scoring, Branding, and Public Embeds

The biggest Rosterlytic update yet — overtime tracking, period-by-period scoring, team branding, embeddable widgets, a public REST API, and more.

3 min read

This is the biggest Rosterlytic update since launch. Six features, every sport, both platforms. Here's what's new.

Overtime Tracking

A 3-2 overtime win is not the same as a 3-2 regulation win. Now your standings know that too.

Commissioners can enable overtime tracking from the league admin page. Choose from sport-specific presets — NHL Style, IIHF Style, or Soccer PK — or set fully custom point values for OT wins, OT losses, shootout wins, and shootout losses. Standings automatically gain new columns (OTW, OTL, SOW, SOL) and every score across the app shows how the game ended: (OT), (SO), (ET), or (PK).

Available for hockey, soccer, basketball, flag football, softball, and kickball. Full details.

Period-by-Period Scoring

Enter game scores broken down by period, quarter, half, or inning. Hockey gets 3 periods, basketball gets 4 quarters, soccer gets 2 halves, softball and kickball get 7 innings, and volleyball keeps its set scoring.

Totals are computed automatically — sum of periods for most sports, count of sets won for volleyball. Add an extra period for overtime and the result method flips to OT automatically. Guide.

Team & League Branding

Upload your team or league logo and set custom accent colors. Commissioners set league branding from the admin page. Captains set team branding from settings. Your logo shows up on game cards, the welcome screen, standings, and even as the opponent logo when you play league games.

Available on all tiers — every team gets branding for free. Guide.

Public Embeds

Commissioners can now embed live Rosterlytic widgets directly on their league's website. Five widgets available: standings, scores, schedule, stat leaders, and full stats table. Light, dark, and transparent themes with optional accent color. Works on WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or anywhere that supports iframes.

Enable embeds from the league admin page, copy the code, paste it on your site. Data updates automatically when scores are entered. Available on the League and Organization tiers. Guide.

Public REST API

For leagues that want custom integrations, we've added a REST API with 7 read-only endpoints — league info, standings, scores, schedule, stat leaders, stats, and seasons. Authenticate with API keys managed from the league admin page. Rate limited to 60 requests per minute per key.

Available on the League and Organization tiers.

Tennis Tiebreaks

Tennis scores now show tiebreak detail. A score of 7-6 becomes 7-6(4), showing the loser's tiebreak points. The tiebreak input appears automatically when both set scores reach 6 or higher.

What's Next

We're working on Rosty — an AI assistant that answers questions about your team's stats, attendance, chemistry, and standings in plain English. More on that soon.

All of these features are available now. Update your app from the App Store or Google Play, or log into the web dashboard.
